The present competition design includes construction of new multifunctional arena for up to 7000 visitors and reconstruction of the existing sport hall “Diana” in the town of Yambol, Bulgaria.

The new arena is designed for holding of official competitions for more than 20 sports including basketball, volleyball, handball, wrestling, tennis, gymnastics and many others. If the telescopic platforms are compressed the arena can be used for concerts, congresses, fairs and others. It is analyzed the visibility characteristics of all seats, which meet the necessary requirements.

The existing sport hall “Diana”, designed by architect Angel Damyanov, is one of the best example of sport hall in Bulgaria build during the period of socialist rule. The present design includes minimal intervention in the building structure and total preservation of the spatial characteristics of the building. The design includes new elevators and bathrooms to meet the contemporary requirements for comfort. There is also a correction of the seats and rows for the visitors.

This conceptual design takes second place in the competition.
